Abraham Mignon is one of the best painters of still life and complex composition of flowers, fruits and shells.  However, he was not very good at depicting cats, and this issue led to the production of strange works.  Born and trained in Germany, Mignon spent most of his time in the Netherlands and became known as a talented artist whose work had a large following throughout Europe.  The "Upside Down Vase" work shows Mignon's skill in depicting flowers and insects;  But at first glance, you can understand the problem of this painting.
