"But how can you like something that isn’t a cast?", you might wonder. Well, Farcaster actually supports reactions to arbritrary url targets. This is pretty powerful because it means that you can react to practically anything. (https://github.com/farcasterxyz/protocol/blob/main/docs/SPECIFICATION.md#14-reactions) When you like something in the Camp feed, we submit a Farcaster reaction targeting the originating onchain transaction. The reaction’s target URI is simply the transaction hash formatted according to ERC-2400. https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-2400 This way we can react to any relevant onchain action; like votes, proposals, auction bids, proposal executions, etc. And since it’s Farcaster, it’s all decentralized trustless data.

To prevent spam we currently only show likes from accounts that have had onchain interactions with the Nouns Protocol (we check if the account is in the subgraph “delegates” set). E.g. likes from my account will show up, because I have verified my eth address (werme.eth) with my olli account, which has onchain interactions with Nouns. We could also easily tweak this to e.g. only show accounts with voting power.
