The Brooklyn Bridge, opened in 1883, is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. The bridge reaches a length of 1825 m and is located over the East River in the city of New York between the districts of Manhattan and Brooklyn. At the time of completion, it was the largest suspension bridge in the world and the first bridge to use steel cables in its construction.
