hiring a lot prior to a ~lasting pmf.

prior to pmf, 2-3 is optimal. depends on the space, but i’d rather narrow down the scope of the product’s MVP than to hire more.

if you need 5+ for a relatively simple consumer app, it likely needs a fat trim.

I’ve seen this a lot and couldn’t agree more. Whenever I was trying to convince founders to take more time to try out business case they were always so convinced about their vision that in 90% of the cases they ended up focusing on product.
