The complexity of bitcoin mining has set a new record. On the morning of December 16, another recalculation saw the figure rise by 4.43% to 108.52 T (trillion) for the first time. This means that miners now need to perform more than 108 trillion calculations required to mine a single block on the bitcoin network and generate a new 3.125 BTC. A year ago, the complexity of bitcoin mining was at 72T. Since then, it has increased by 50%. The increase in complexity is due to the fact that miners are connecting more and more equipment to mine the first cryptocurrency. BTC mining is automatically complicated or simplified about every two weeks. This is to ensure that the rate of issuance of new bitcoins does not change. The complexity increases to compensate for the growth in the number of equipment connected to cryptocurrency mining.
