The Yoruba tribe is one of the largest African tribes located along the border between southwestern Nigeria and present-day Benin (Dahomey) and constitutes a third of the population of Nigeria. The Yoruba region was built around 1000 AD and developed thriving cities, roads and trade networks, many of which still exist today.
