Got the new RTX 4080 running in the PC last night. Spent the evening downloading Llama 3.1 and getting it running locally. It replies fast as hell to prompts! And of course gave it a test run on some GPU-hungry games.

Today I'm going to get ComfyUI and SDXL up and running, and make sure I can render in Blender without issues.

You should definitely be able to run blender smoothly on that GPU.

You'd think. But last night I did a test render and it froze. Not sure whats goin on but I'll resolve it today.

There is probably something wrong with, maybe an update 🤷🏾‍♂️. I run blender on a GTX 1050 TI with some slight hiccups.

Some times it has to do with update and having the proper setup. So i guess it’s working perfectly now? 

I actually found out that RTX graphics card are much more power than GTX. Although i use a GTX for running machine learning models, RTX is much better for that same purpose.

I was surprised that it took so long to load certain textures. I have a powerful CPU and lots of memory, and obviously a good GPU (confirmed working in blender.) I loaded another file this morning without the heavy textures and it ran really fast.
