An Aspen grove appears as individual trees but is actually a singular organism, connected and coordinated through its root system. Walking among the Aspens this morning, I felt connected to my grandparents, their grandparents, their grandparents and on and on. I feel my life as a single tree, but I take strength from the root system of my ancestors.
