Care about climate action this one's for you. Since we started @octant we've been funding public goods and open-source projects, and we've been working on bigger plans to be able to bring positive and lasting change. 6 epochs later, 65+ projects funded, and $6M distributed, we're excited to announce a major milestone for Epoch 7... 🥁🥁🥁 Introducing the Octant Climate Epoch, in partnership with Climate Coordination Network (CCN) @climatenetwork 🌍🌡️This is our first themed round, and it’s all about tackling the climate crisis. 🌡️Why climate and why now? Because if not now, when? and action is our shared duty. Now is the time to empower those tackling one of humanity’s biggest challenges. 💡Are we climate experts? 💚 Why this epoch matters: this isn't just funding; it's a move towards Octant v2, a protocol for sustainable community funding and supporting public goods. This epoch will test new v2 mechanisms to better serve top donors and projects. ⭐️ What's new? • No snapshot this epoch; projects handpicked with CCN. • Allocation unchanged for donors; projects focused on climate. • Testing new tools/processes for better outcomes. More on project eligibility and criteria coming soon. What's unchanged? • User rewards remain the same this epoch. • Epoch 8 returns to regular programming. 📈Funding is just the beginning. Over the next year, we'll offer mentorship, resources, and ongoing support. Independent experts will assess these efforts' impact.
