At an ecosystem level, what metrics would you expect hackathons to collect?

Some fft top of mind things for me (don’t even know how easy this is to track):

- $ invested in hackathon projects
- # jobs created 
- # companies started 
- ETH burned
- people connected 

Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts too

I check every submission with their Github history + some code search

Usually it becomes obvious in a minute

Fair, thanks! There should be a way to automate partially at least. Last year alone we’ve had probably 3000+ project submissions.

To be clear, we’re already doing most of this. If you check any of our finalist projects across our events hard to find any recycled project.

My framework is

- eliminate below average ones quickly (generally ~50%)
- check each demo website to see if there's a mismatch of texts or too much work, around 10% gets the initial flag of being recycled
- check the rest and give points (hard part)
- check the suspicious ones carefully
- double check the winners
