The European Banking Authority (EBA) is expected to finalize and publish technical standards for stablecoin issuers by the end of 2024. These technical standards cover licensing, stress testing, and transaction estimates as specified by MiCA. This is why most stablecoin issuers, including Tether, have decided to leave Europe as they do not want to comply with MiCA regulations.
