Pharmaceutical company CelaCare is suing stablecoin issuer Circle, demanding a refund of $1 million in USDC sent to the wrong address and "destroyed" by its CEO Kenneth Yates due to mishandling. The lawsuit claims that on July 3, 2024, Yates mistakenly entered the letter B in the address as the number "8" when sending USDC from his Coinbase account, resulting in the funds entering an unclaimed and inaccessible wallet address. CelaCare requests the court to confirm that USDC has been destroyed and demands Circle to compensate $1 million. However, Circle rejected the refund request on September 6th. @drunky @yseultacacia

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin responded on social media to suggestions from Twitter users to stop selling ETH, saying, "Yesterday's ETH sell-off was initiated by a biodefense organization I funded, triggered by an automatic CoWSwapTWAP order set up as early as August 29th. This is the last order." The time weighted average price (TWAP) order launched by DEX aggregator CoWSwap allows traders to diversify their trades within a specified time period to stabilize market price fluctuations and obtain positions at the average market price. @dsegundo

The US House Financial Services Digital Assets Subcommittee discussed DeFi regulatory issues at a hearing. Massachusetts Democratic Congressman Stephen Lynch stated that there is no "consensus definition" for DeFi among regulatory agencies or the industry itself. He also criticized the entire cryptocurrency industry, stating that it has been damaged by an "implosion event" and calling for legislation. Stephen Lynch said, "The committee should have explored topics such as DeFi and tokenization of digital assets long before legislation was introduced. The FIT bill that I strongly oppose excludes DeFi services. I urge the committee not to push for similar legislation because it would trigger the same consumer and investor protection risks by legalizing the industry @rsyaalfariza

Cryptocurrency analyst LarkDavis stated on YouTube that 2025 will be the high point of this cycle and should be sold before leaving. He gave the following reasons for this argument: the global liquidity cycle is expected to peak in 2025 and then begin to decline. The credit cycle in China is about four years, and 2025 may be the peak of China's credit. At present, the yield of short-term bonds is higher than that of long-term bonds, but the yield curve is gradually returning to normal, which may indicate a shift in the economic cycle. Therefore, he believes that there may be a huge market chaos in 2025, followed by a bear market. @ftiioma @dryhh

According to Coindesk, British banking giant Barclays has raised the ratings of Coinbase (COIN) and Robinhood (HOOD) from underweight to equal weight, citing their better business models. Barclays analyst Benjamin Budish stated that both companies have "significantly matured", particularly due to the rich expansion of their products and a more positive financial outlook. Given that both presidential candidates have adopted increasingly friendly attitudes towards the digital asset industry and multiple spot ETFs have been approved, Coinbase can particularly benefit from a more favorable regulatory environment. @ygor

Puffpaw announced the completion of a seed round financing of $6 million, with Lemniscap Ventures participating. The Puffpaw project plans to launch a blockchain powered electronic cigarette aimed at reducing nicotine intake through token incentives for users. This project encourages users to quit smoking by recording their smoking habits and rewarding them with tokens. Puffpaw's token economy aims to cover 30% of the cost for users to use its product in the first month and provide social rewards. The project also considers possible system abuse behavior, but the issue of users reporting smoking habits dishonestly is not yet clear. @seung-mi
