Yeah, I was born in early 80s and didn't get to experience SW in theaters. But I loved reading as a kid, and LOTR was obviously my favorite. And then I found a worn out VHS tape of the 1978 LOTR movie, the one that's basically The Fellowship and half of Two Towers in one movie. I was smitten. One of my biggest regrets in life is them not making the second one in that series. (sidenote: younglings won't know the pain of not having any and all video content you want on 4 different devices, available at the tip of your fingers, whenever you want it) Well I am glad you decided to do that with your tips :) again, TY

I didn’t realize there was an old LOTR. And yes, they have no idea what it’s like to see a movie in a theater only lol that’s why we would see movies multiple times in a theater

It's an animated movie. IIRC the Nazgul (bad guys) and some Orcs were a combination of an animated movie and live action. It's weird to explain it. The animation does not hold well lol. But I loved it as a kid.

according to RT, it's "a mixed media of violently clashing rotoscoping, real photography, and abstract backgrounds. It looks like a mess and plays like it too." One guy directed LOTR animated movie (which is what I loved), two other guys directed both Hobbit and Return of the King. The LOTR movie was weird and unsettling. But it had that certain "je ne sais quoi". Plus the feeling of finally seeing something you only read about on the screen. It was wild to me (at tha time). Again, kids now will never know this feeling, as everything now is immediately transferred from books/comics to the big or small screen. The two guys that directed Hobbit and Return made two kids movies (which is fair, i guess), with a much lighter tone. Peter Jackson learned a lot from the (arguable) mistakes in all three of those movies. And then when he felt the effects (practical and CGI) were at that stage where he could tell his version of the story, he did it.
