Hate to see it but yeah you’re probably right. When I’m teaching all this the biggest lesson I tell them is never put more in than you’re willing to lose. Just like you shouldn’r mortgage your house to play blackjack.

Someone, rightly, said better take the loss now, when "little" is at risk, than later once the value is tremendous. You advised students well. There's investment money, speculation money, and gambling money. Of the latter, take a "little wallet full" with you to Vegas. No credit card, and have fun. Not more.
