I’d like to petition to remove the word trauma from the English language, seems like it’s used as a set of water wings while standing in ankle deep water 99.99995% of the time

revealed preference: people want to be lazy rather than truly look into the abhorrently ugly void within themselves and rid themselves of any & all accountability as much as humanly possible, in order to maintain their 24/7 hedonism they seek victimhood as the ultimate status for the total escape of any accountability

Oh yes! It is used to often and pushes aside the people with real trauma. They get overlooked because of misuse.

1/2 Unfortunately this a high jacking of the meaning of a word. Your point is 100% correct, btw. We have to have real meaning for words like this because it practically used by professionals daily. For instance, my wife is a trauma neurosurgeon, one of six in the world.

Especially when it’s used as a marketing & selling point. “Trauma informed yoga/meditation teachers/coaches,” I see a lot. Do teachers & coaches act on it appropriately? No. Not at all. They exploit for profit. I stay far away from those types. They help no one.
