Chargebacks are a measure of fraud in the system but they’re setup as dark patterns. Most people seem to use them in cases where they made a bad choice and they wish they hadn’t. This should never happen, it costs all of us money

Respectfully, this is not accurate. Chargebacks matter more than every other measurement in the system because it’s the governing measurement of the system. It determines the cost at the gateway and ultimately it affects the final sticker price of everything you pay for. 

One of the reasons we have terrible access to fintech in crypto is exactly because of the above statements.

Chargebacks are a small enough problem that it doesn’t matter in the overall scheme of the financial system. 

Literal drops in a giant bucket. 🪣 

The consumer protection they afford against big business is 💯 worth it.
