When I got Covid a year or two ago, I felt terrible and stopped drinking coffee so I could sleep more. Months later I did a week with no coffee as an experiment and realized many of the symptoms I attributed to Covid were actually somewhat/mostly the coffee withdrawal

I switched to decaf, then to green tea, which I found to be bitter/refreshing enough, plus a more even “high.” Now after about a year, I‘ve found I can have the occasional very nice coffee without the gut/jitteriness issues I had before.
