Backwards compatibility is underrated in crypto

Im the guy that posted all those factory memes once

We had backwards compat for like a month, then it was forcibly broken

I don't understand:
- why that was necessary
- why more projects weren't updated
- who, if anyone, even works on walletconnect

Most of all, I don't understand what all these DAOs with massive treasuries are doing NOT funding infrastructure

Fuck the establishment let's build what they should have, because right now, web2 works great. The previously most hated man, Zuck, has released more open source software than anything web3 has

Notice if you say ME fast enough you get MEME

They bumped the launch and made quite a few announcements leading up to that, I.e. https://medium.com/walletconnect/walletconnect-v1-0-sunset-notice-and-migration-schedule-8af9d3720d2e. I think the reason it was sunset was costs but that is speculation
