I don’t understand the point of rebuilding the same dark patterns on new infrastructure

Having a custodian is a dark pattern. They always get a final say as to what I can or can’t do. Base seems great in a lot of ways but it relies on custodian at the end of the day. 

When I can’t get root control, if I want it, then it’s just more of the same to me
