honestly, i'm loving it you can have a separate "user" (i called mine google) for anything that needs unlimited google access (i rarely switch to it) however, i found no way around play store in terms of secure ways to install apps, but all google apps are sandboxed and there is no way for google to run anything in the background without my knowledge this is also the first time in years my phone holds charge for 2+ days! did take me a few hours to set it up, butless time than de-samsunging samsung hehe :)) the amount of settings is surprisingly smol cherry on the top was randomizing mac address in every wifi connection, so good

I’m sold! You’re using the new pixel? Are oneplus ones any good any more or did the succumb to the enshitification of everything as well?

iirc you can only install gos on pixels (because they pass security tests) oneplus doesn't pass it due to some weird chip thingy that i'm too lazy to go into i got a pixel 8a off marketplace for cheap because people apparently don't like the "feel" of it with the screen borders — but i don't care, i use phones as tools i love it so far, especially because i can get all google ai features (camera, hold for me, etc) — things i desperately missed on samsungs
