The way I got into tech was through conferences, not as an attendee but as a volunteer. What’s interesting about conferences is that the people there who are truly getting shit done, show up for the one thing they need and then leave as fast as possible. Aside from hackathons, everything else is just a vacation.

I have always wanted to get into tech but people around me tell me it’s impossible because I am a med student

With all due respect, fuck those people, they know not what they say. I’m a dropout, blue collar house painter, and snowboarder. Nobody has ever been right about what I can or can’t do but me

Hell yeah! 💪 Do your best and learn from mistakes as fast as you can by not worrying about the fact you made the mistakes, only focus on the takeaway

🤷‍♂️ you gotta do you, if that feels like an angle you’re into, then do it, if it’s not you then find an angle that is. Plenty of cheat codes and none of them resemble the others

You’ve got all my tips in this thread. School teaches everyone that there are only answers to be sought out. Unfortunately that’s a lie. Your job is to take the tips from people who have done a thing, borrow the underlying concept to then formulate your own question. Once you know the question, then you can pursue the formula that leads to the answer. My formula exactly probably won’t work for you, nor will someone else’s formula.

Hmm, I had a paradigm shift reading this, I am use to the traditional way of doing things I need to think out of the box, learn from people and find what system is best for me Thank you 🫶🏻
