@vgr if you haven't, I think you'll enjoy playing 'Mind' & that it could be informative to your work on time. It's a card game with cards numbered 0-100. Each player gets one and can't reveal it. Players have to be silent. This means that the *main* way of communicating is *time*.

Waiting more if you have a higher card, waiting less if you have a lower card. As game rounds go through players learn how other players measure time (how long each player increases to go up from 15 to 20 say), the whole group syncs on a way of measuring time, etc.
