Isn't it a stretch to say that because PoS has a schelling point that roughly looks like PoG, therefore it's the same? The optionality to break out of it is a massive factor (like the ability to fork in OSS, doesn't mean every user has to maintain a fork). Disclaimer: Haven't read Jon's treatise yet.

Read the thread & watched the talk. My summary: L2: PoG. Improve decentralization that’s close enough, maintain speed. Argument is that dPoS has a similar end result so take less steps to get there. L1: need full decentralization, dPoS βœ…, even if practically similar to PoG. The ethos of anyone can stake is key
