in some cases i think it is (not in all). i was thinking about founders, many of whom could be making big $ working at another co. to an outsider their behavior looks totally irrational, but then you realize its their conviction that makes them believe they are in fact acting rationally. to outsiders we look crazy

Is rationality always objective though?

Maybe conviction is the lens that turns something irrational into something rational.

Conviction drives rational people to act on their believes. Consistency helps them execute against that conviction. And principles ensure they deal with reality on reality's terms.
