Isn't a simple counterpoint the age of exploration? Like all the same things apply, latency, hostile environment, "virtual reality" of high society. And yet we still got bored and decided to FAFO. 

It's an interesting idea but I think it falls over with just a small amount of critique personally.

I have lots of new ideas 

Like a new dating trend/show for this economy
