would be cool if it was baked directly into native channel creation tho (when  they're permissionless), no third-party contract required. some portion of funds could flow back into the fc protocol. would make doing fun things with money (eg. /dogs doing a dog rescue) more frictionless

Purple has one. Channel is built around the NFT contract.

-> create an NFT (maybe on bonding curve) -> triggers channel creation -> buy / sell fees go to treasury

-> nft owners would get a badge in the channel

I love this idea, but I think in order for it to really work, we need Warpcast buttons to sign txs

Channels would evolve then into something between a community and corporation, like a non-profit of sorts? Super interesting idea and nothing stopping it. You just need an nft with erc20 functions to manage assets contained. It might be possible to do something with Safe via modules.
