One thing I noticed that was difficult at the moment for physical items (last time I did this with pins) is there’s no good way to collect addresses to ship to, and handle shipping costs, handle taxes for each region to send to etc

i think a token-gated deform would solve this. would need to include a flat shipping rate in the contribution amount. not sure what to do about international orders. could also use a different system for fulfillment

Yeah I could see that. Today for most  physical goods normally, Shopify is really hard to beat as a backend because it handles customer tracking, taxes, inventory, fulfillment etc
