"Crying Antibiotic: The Danger of Misusing Antibiotics" Ever heard of antibiotic resistance? This happens when bacteria become stronger and no longer respond to antibiotics, making infections harder to treat. One serious example is MDR-TB (Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis), where TB bacteria no longer respond to standard drugs like Rifampicin and Isoniazid. What causes this? ❌ Stopping antibiotics too soon – The bacteria aren’t fully gone yet! ❌ Taking antibiotics without a doctor’s prescription – Wrong usage makes bacteria stronger. ❌ Using antibiotics for viral infections – Colds and flu don’t need antibiotics! When resistance happens, treatment becomes longer, more expensive, and more difficult. MDR-TB patients, for example, need special medications for up to 2 years! Don’t let antibiotics cry! Use them wisely always follow your doctor’s prescription and finish the full course. 💌 ❤️ @flowit @nouns-dao
