The first goal is to be scalable, so Kafka. And tried and tested tech are better: I want people to adopt my project and use it confidently. I'm just afraid that Kafka will be cumbersome and I really wanted to test Iggy (https://iggy.rs/) in the wild!

kafka is just a beast to run yourself and overkill for foreseeable event throughput on the fc protocol, otherwise it’s a rock solid choice i’m unfamiliar with iggy but will check this out!
