I don’t understand the appeal of chess as a game. I think it’s super cool as a symbol/status for dramatic effect but as a game? Creativity doesn’t seem very important, it’s not very varied… etc… At LEAST for the normal player, I don’t see how it’s exciting compared to other strategy games you could play.
