ZK rollups vs. Optimistic rollups is a race to lower proving costs. When ZK proving costs drop while tx volume increases enough to beat ORs, ZK will win. For now, current costs and tx volumes favor ORsābut tech advances will tip the scales. ORs can use this time to adopt ZK proofs in hybrid systems while leveraging their lead in tx volume.

Could a hybrid rollup leveraging lattice-based proofs provide the best of both worlds? Lower proof and data availability costs while scaling with high transaction volumes.
