Having lived in Costa Rica, USA, UK and Germany in the last 10 years: Europe is humane. US is paranoia that you will end up in a lower class. Third world is struggling to just make ends meet and lives on high combative energy.

So I agree with @antonio 1000%. Also, UK behaves like an island in the middle of the Atlantic. So it has more American psyche than it should due to its geographical proximity to “the continent”

As a fellow SAmerican, both discourses (europoor/america brutality) sounds as a false appreciation. It’s more or less when you’re mad with your spouse but in public you defend not matter what. After living in US/EU my impression is that everyone is coping instead to celebrate and work on the fix/build things.
