the Vitalik memecoin post is an example of a big problem I have with his worldview

it often feels like he's fighting back against natural forces instead of accepting certain things as inevitable

extreme optimism regarding human behavior modification

and maybe I'm too pessimistic

but some battles don't seem worth it

I think Vitalik sees what I see: that positive sum games should attract *more* degens than the zero sum games that most memecoins are playing. It's not a call to avoid personal gain, it's a call to seek personal gain by helping as many people as possible. That's what markets are supposed to be for!
