I'm Nick from @hatsprotocol and over the last couple months I've been jamming with @noun839.eth on how to upgrade the onchain mechanisms for Purple

tl;dr: giving Purple DAO onchain control of who is on the multisigs

Excited to share what we've come up with so far for community feedback — a thread:

4/ If that works well, the tree could expand to other use cases:

A) A Proactive Small Grants Council (like the original inspiration)

B] Decentralizing the DAO veto (1/1 @noun839.eth -> n/m "security council")

C) Individual roles for folks working on behalf of Purple

D) A shared Hat-gated FID for the DAO (soonTM)

5/ How it would work: 

1. Attach a HatsSignerGate (audited Zodiac Module) to the existing multisig 

2. Have the DAO mint revocable Signer Hats to the desired signers

3. Signer Hat wearers claim signing authority

4. DAO can revoke signing authority at any time

7/ Eventually, this could evolve to a fully onchain elections, term limits, or other custom logic

And, since Hats are ERC-1155s, you can use the Signer Hats for gating other things for coordination, such as a Purple Charmverse page, private telegram groups, and a huge list of other tools
