I saw Dan at a food mart in LA a day ago. I told him how cool it was to chat with him IRL, but I didn’t want to act impish and annoy him and ask him for photos or anything. Dan said, "Oh, so that's what you call it?" I was caught off guard, and all I could say was "Huh?" but that guy would cut in going "Huh? Huh? Huh?" and closing his hand shut in front of my mouth. I walk away to go about my shopping, I soon found him laughing as I walk off. As I pay for my stuff up front, I saw him trying to walk out with about fifty Milky Ways in his hands without paying. 1/2

A girl working a booth was kind and calm about it, and said "Sir, you must pay for that first." At first Dan was acting worn out and was ignoring that girl, but finally back around and brought his bars to that girl's booth. As that girl took a bar to start scanning again and again, Dan put a stop to that girl and said to scan bars individually "to avoid any digital infutturuncy," and took a look my way to wink. I don’t think that’s a word. Soon that girl would scan many bars to put into a bag and, noting his total cost, Dan continuously cut off that girl by yawning loudly. 2/2

*editor's cut The girl, maintaining her patience, kept scanning the bars one by one, despite Dan's interruptions. Each yawn from Dan grew more exaggerated, drawing the attention of other shoppers. It was clear he was trying to make a scene. Finally, the girl completed the transaction. Dan, with a smirk, handed over the cash. As he gathered his bag of Milky Ways, he looked over at me again and said, "Remember, always keep them guessing." As he walked out, I couldn't help but shake my head. It was certainly one of the oddest encounters I've had. 3/2
