Actual chances aside and hypothetically: how does society respond in the first 1-3 months of confirmed aliens? Feels like there would be a large existential crisis to some extent.

The movies always depict war and spaceships landing in front of a guy playing a synthesiser as the aliens start attacking everyone. Thats not what will happen. I anticipate they’ll ask to meet your grandmother who makes a lovely Victoria sponge cake because of all the things they’ve learnt, that’s all they want
