In a mobile context, every screen of every stack will update on state change even if the screen in question isn't focused. This can lead to lots of unnecessary re-rendering if you change some piece of state that many mounted screens depend on.

react-freeze addresses this by "freezing" state changes on unfocused screens until the user returns to them, at which point they will refresh.
