It’s expensive (computationally) and slow to preload. So most apps don’t do it. We could do it but trade off on performance.

Are you specifically interested in OP and one other person back and forth?

Yes I most often want to read the full thread between any two people, such as OP and one other person. 

Ideally clicking into the first reply (or show more) would load the full conversation. 

UX could perhaps suffer less the computational expense if the first reply or two are loaded sequentially, before loading the rest of the thread.
