imho the same issues with web3 gaming apply to web3 social networks: the more social the problem and feedback loops are, the more they rely on (and die from lack of) network effects.
DeFi seems like a counter to this, but the composability of permissionless finance is something you can’t see in tradfi being easily accessible to people who literally aren’t millionaires. 
It’ll be interesting to see who figured out that feedback loop for gaming and for social, and how that alpha is reimplemented across other actors within their respective market segments.
Overall, I do think that tech is becoming more interactive, and on another note it seems like more media will take more queues from gaming.
