Sometimes, my mother says that every time I call home, especially on holidays or weekends.
Mom didn't blame me, it's just that, in those words, I heard a quiet void that she was trying to hide.
Mom doesn't blame me, but I know, she remembers. I remember the warm atmosphere when the whole family was full, remember the times I babbled and told stories that had no beginning or end.
A mother doesn't ask for anything big, just seeing her children come home and have a full meal is enough to be happy.
