The deep sea is defined as the region with depths greater than 200 metres, extending from the flat bottom to the abyss, which ranges from 3,000 to 6,000 metres. Beyond these flat areas are ocean trenches, such as the famous Mariana Trench, which reaches an impressive depth of 11,000 metres.
