Decentraland, the Ethereum-based metaverse platform, is launching a desktop client on October 22, aiming to drastically improve graphics and performance over its browser-based version. The new client enhances the visual detail and smoothness of animations while significantly boosting platform performance, allowing over 200 avatars to interact seamlessly in one space.

Engineering Manager Agnieszka Besz highlighted the addition of quests and badge systems to boost social engagement. The upcoming Decentraland music festival in November will showcase the platform's upgraded capabilities, as it handles larger virtual gatherings unhindered by previous technical constraints.
