🖼️ On this day in Crypto Art History… 🗓️ 6 July 2021 - CryptoPunk #5293 becomes the first NFT in Miami’s Institute of Contemporary Art. 🏛️ CryptoPunk #5293 was gifted to the ICA Miami by trustee Eduardo Burillo. This marks ICA Miami's first-ever NFT acquisition, reflecting its commitment to contemporary art and cultural zeitgeist. Punk #5293 is a part of the 10,000-piece NFT collection CryptoPunks created by Larva Labs in 2017. It is one of 3,840 female punks, and has the attributes “purple lipstick,” “mole,” and “frumpy hair.” ICA Miami has since expanded its CryptoPunk collection. Included is a photo of Punk #305 displayed alongside Andy Warhol's "Virtual Lady" in December of 2022.
