Storing cryptocurrency is “the best way to preserve wealth.” In this regard, Bitcoin is preferable to gold due to the lack of national control, said ex-CEO of BitMEX Arthur Hayes. In a new Zoom Out essay, the expert analyzed three major cycles, from the Great Depression of the 1930s to today's situation, focusing on the Pax Americana. He explained his choice by the fact that the entire world economy is a derivative of the financial policy of the ruling empire: 1933-1980: ascending local cycle of Pax Americana; 1980-2008: global cycle of Pax Americana Hegemon; 2008–present: Local cycle of Pax Americana against the Middle Kingdom. Hayes identified two types of periods - local and global. The first is characterized by the suppression by the authorities of “savers” to finance wars, the second by the deregulation of finance and the development of world trade. The local period is inflationary, and the global period is deflationary.

The Chainlink oracle project has announced its integration into the Avalanche blockchain network. Specifically, this is the Data Streams application. According to Chainlink, it is “on-demand access to high-frequency market data.” The service provides market data in real time. Benefits include low latency and automatic execution. As part of the collaboration, Data Streams will be used by the GMX crypto futures exchange. Johann EYD, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, said they are excited to support the next generation of high-throughput DeFi products on Avalanche using Chainlink's Data Streams. The prices of two crypto projects reacted to the news with a significant increase. Avalanche (AVAX) was up nearly ten percent to $28 from the previous day. Chainlink (LINK) is trading at $14, up four percent.

Blast airdrop attracts scams Like several other high-profile airdrops this year — including that of cross-chain bridge protocol Wormhole — Blast’s airdrop event attracted a deluge of scammers across X. Scammers often choose large-scale airdrop events to pose as legitimate-looking copycats, as airdrops usually require crypto users to connect their wallets and sign transactions to claim their allotted tokens. The crypto security service Scam Sniffer identified a user who fell victim to a Blast airdrop scam, losing over $217,000 after signing multiple phishing signatures.

“The emergence of cryptocurrency ETFs will make market participants believe that these are proven assets. While cryptocurrencies continue to show high volatility,” the researcher wrote. Before allowing the launch of these investment products, South Korean authorities should carefully analyze the potential risks and benefits of introducing cryptocurrency ETFs, Lee writes. He insists that their implementation will cause more losses than benefits. Therefore, to reduce possible risks, it is necessary to develop clear rules for regulating the crypto market, the researcher concluded. Last year, South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) began preparing regulations to complement the Virtual Asset User Protection Law. In April, South Korean regulators tightened the rules for listing new altcoins on centralized cryptocurrency exchanges operating in the country.

In his article, Bo-mi Lee explained that if spot ETFs linked to Bitcoin and Ether are approved in the country, this will lead to growth in the digital asset market. As a result, a significant amount of capital will flow into the crypto market, which will lead to inefficient allocation of resources and worsen the liquidity of the financial market. If cryptocurrencies “intercept” a large volume of cash flows, less investment will flow into local companies, which will make the South Korean financial market more vulnerable to the crisis, the expert fears.

It seems that England's royal family is running out of money. They are down to just $1.6 million. Well sure, that's what happens when nobody in your family has had a job for the last thousand years.
