Step 1: Find a quiet spot where your pet feels comfortable and relaxed. Step 2: Gently place your hand on your pet's chest to feel their heartbeat. Count the beats for 15 seconds and multiply by four. This gives you the beats per minute. Step 3: Next, observe their breathing. Count the number of breaths in 60 seconds. Healthy cats usually breathe 20-30 times per minute, and dogs vary by size but typically range from 10-35 times. Step 4: Check your pet's gums for color. They should be pink and moist, indicating good circulation. If they seem pale or bluish, consult your vet. Knowing these basics can be a life-saver and help you communicate more effectively with your vet. Give it a try and let me know how it goes! 🐶🐱
