Crazy question. How do people feel about the death penalty especially in the context of these school shootings?

Whomever was complicit in a child murdering other children should face jail time. Wasn't the FBI already monitoring/investigating the shooter? Egregious. DEATH penalty though? That's the easy way out. Dude should get beat up everyday until he gains a conscience, then should live the rest of his days in turmoil.
