Got my new iPhone yesterday and was quite irritated with the lie of fast phone transfer. I connected old and new phones with a cable, saw a message that claimed completion in 20 minutes, which was then replaced with the accurate completion time of 10 hours.

Now to buy a bigger external SSD so I can offload my photos.

And the new base models are still limited to USB 2.0 speeds. I'm sure their position is that you should use iCloud, or that this speed only matters once every two years, but it is an awful experience.

I've been scared off by people having issues with iCloud deleting their entire library.
