does the user care about what da layer their favorite rollup is using or will they choose a rollup based on fees or overall UX?

more clearly is a volition a meaningful product for users? is this something they want to think about? or do they only care about picking a rollup because it has apps and vibes? as long as fees stay relative to other rollups they dont care?

i think the answer is it depends on the user and the state of ux for dapps and wallets. i suspect if a user on average is moving over x amount of ether for example then they may prefer ethereum for da.

perhaps the user is transferring a cryptopunk like nft from one wallet to another. they may prefer ethereum da. but if the user is airdrop farming by trying new application on the rollup then maybe validium mode is what they prefer.

should this be a per tx configuration in the application interface or wallet and what should the defaults be?

another thought to consider is that if an alt da layer like Celestia can provide a meaningful amount of economic security say 10x todays but with equal or lower fees to dac solutions or eigen da (unlikely) will this change user behavior at all?

its also hard to infer much from power users, multiple cycles, air drop farmers, and speculators.

anecdotally people do take interest in online banking configurations, brokerage accounts and the like so its hard to assume they won’t care about fees and security trade-offs for programmable money related uses cases.

for gaming or social or things like this certainly low cost da as a default is might be an acceptable option. idk, looking forward to how this plays out. i think it might take a while likely next bear market we sort out the ux here due to more feedback from this bull.
