🛠️ The Neon EVM Mainnet Update is Live!

Our dev teams have been working around the clock for the last few months on a new performance update that will significantly enhance Neon EVM, bringing you a full parallel processing experience.

2️⃣ High growth and activity on the Solana network was affecting Neon EVM, preventing us from fully leveraging Sealevel technology & its benefits.

Our dev team identified this and worked tirelessly to implement crucial upgrades, which are now live on Mainnet.

3️⃣ We have transitioned from pessimistic account blocking to optimistic execution of Ethereum-like txns.

This means more efficient and faster txns with number of iterations (in some cases by 10 times!) and execution time reduced.

How? ↓

4️⃣ This is achieved by more optimally distributing computational units among iterative txns, reducing overhead, and decreasing the time it takes to handle iterations from the Proxy side.

We also increased the atomicity of account locks by reducing the number of blocked accounts.

5️⃣ With major Proxy refactoring, over 75% of the code has been redesigned, and major changes have been made to Neon Proxy.

This massive overhaul sets the stage for a more efficient and robust parallel processing system.

6️⃣ We have also transitioned from synchronous to asynchronous processing across the board including:

RPC API for Ethereum client requests, interaction with DB Postgres, communication with Solana node, interactions with Pyth network, and all internal component interactions.

7️⃣ To achieve this we switched to new advanced frameworks & libraries

Robyn framework with Rust library Actix for async operations, aiohttp for internal comms and more…

8️⃣ As a result, execution time has been reduced, and the likelihood of Solana txns failing has been significantly reduced.

In addition, users will benefit from instant visibility for txns signed and sent to appear in block explorers and wallets, eliminating delays.
