Hello, I'm Michael J. Baines, and I've spent the past 22 years of my life in Thailand, where my journey of rescuing dogs began in 2011. While I've been a chef for 38 years, my true passion lies in being a dog rescuer by choice.
In 2011, I established the TMTRD foundation, initially working alone until 2016. During the first five years, my focus was on feeding 80 to 100 dogs on the streets, occasionally saving injured ones. Struggling with limited space to keep the rescued ones, I found myself taking in to my own home a maximum of 18 dogs, a number that has now settled at 15 2 replies

Since 2016, I've been fortunate to have dedicated staff working alongside me, ensuring the well-being of the rescued dogs. Collaborating closely with the local municipality since 2017, we oversee the shelter in our area. Over the years, we've transformed the shelter, expanding it from 150 sqm to its current size of around 8000 sqm, with another 2000 sqm under construction.
Today, our team cares for 1150 dogs, operating a fully equipped low-cost clinic. We have a remarkable staff, including 2 veterinarians, 3 veterinary assistants, 25 caregivers for the sanctuary and care unit, 2 construction / maintenance workers, and 5 administrators handling adoptions, messages, and phone calls. 0 reply
